About the Role:

Our client, a prestigious legal firm is actively seeking a 4-month contract Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting Department. Reporting directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, this position demands a candidate with a blend of experience, professional acumen, and analytical prowess. Responsibilities include overseeing and facilitating various facets of the Accounts Payable process, such as coding and scrutinizing vouchers and invoices, conducting account reconciliations, monitoring expenses, and generating posting entries and reports utilizing Excel. Given the significance of meeting deadlines in this role, we prioritize individuals who exhibit high levels of responsibility and dependability.

Responsibilities:

Review and validate invoices entered to ensure data accuracy.
Evaluate and approve expense reports and corporate visa charges submitted by members of the firm.
Scrutinize and clean up CSV (and other formats) account transactions before uploading them to the ERP system.
Manage Excel templates for the bulk uploading of transactions.
Address internal and external inquiries, reconcile statements, and resolve outstanding balances on vendor accounts.
Collaborate closely with firm members and lawyers to ensure timely processing of disbursements and expenses.
Ensure compliance with firm policies and business rules.
Provide support for various financial system implementations and related projects.
Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
Carry out other Accounts Payable duties assigned by Supervisor or Senior Management.

Qualifications:

Diploma or post-secondary education in Accounting.
3 to 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable.
Preference given to candidates with experience in law firms, 3E, and Chrome River.
Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new software and applications.
Flexible and adaptable to new tasks in a dynamic and growing environment.
Proactive in learning with a curious mindset.
Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and workflows in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional judgment, and the ability to independently resolve issues as they arise.
