Primary Duties:

Supervises the quality assurance function to assure quality production is in accordance with customer specifications.
Ensures that all practices, procedures, and criteria at the plant meet or exceed all standards and customer specifications. This position works with customers, corporate personnel and plant personnel to develop quality control and quality improvement programs, procedures, and practices. The incumbent works with other plant management to assure that quality of product is a priority.
Audits production processes, equipment, and employee performances to assure that all prescribed quality procedures are adhered to without compromise.
Contacts customers regarding quality problems. Complaints are investigated; cause of non-conforming quality is determined and a corrective action to resolve problems is initiated, so that customer needs and concerns are satisfied.
Assists with supplier issues.
Leads subordinate personnel to provide a competent workforce.
Ensures compliance to IATF 16949 requirements; including document control.
Support continuous improvement, support cross departmental decision making.
Other managerial duties as assigned. Work with production as a bridge between Quality and Manufacturing to resolve quality and system issues.
Drive preventive actions for resolution.
Translate the customer requirements into production specifications, control plans, and process FMEAs. A multi-functional team for each part of the process usually defines the process FMEA.
Travel to customer locations to resolve quality concerns
Assist in ensuring the success Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Lead and monitor PPM improvement efforts for new and existing parts.
Lead corrective action tracking and activities for customer complaints and audits.
Leads and defines quality training for the Collingwood Production Facility.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum of 3 years related experience in a manufacturing facility
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Must be willing to travel Internationally
Previous experience in quality assurance within the automotive industry, preferably Tier 1

Qualifications Desired:

OpEx experience Green Belt/Black Belt certification
Certified Lead Auditor
