Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, control system and reliability is the main responsibility of the Maintenance Electrician.

This is an 18 month temporary position.

How you will make contributions that matter:

Carries out reactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment
Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
Carries out equipment installations and modifications, wiring and running conduits when necessary
Works effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety
Follows company policies and safety-first culture while continuously improving standards
Works effectively and collaboratively with other trades groups to complete project assignments
Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or assigned leadership designate

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Electrician with a journeyperson license or control system (PLC, Robotics, Automation) background
Excited and willing to work night shift (7 PM - 7 AM) including the availability for weekends
Proven hands-on experience within food industry or high-speed packaging plant (preferred)
Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematic, and electrical code specifications
Comfortable with mechanical troubleshooting and executing assigned mechanical work orders
Excellent troubleshooting skills, able to work collaboratively with all departments
Highly motivated initiator, able to work independently with minimum supervision
Effective communication skills, able to complete computer-based work orders

Any of the following would be considered an asset:

Experience in construction electrical writing and firm understanding of building or facility regulation
Knowledgeable and experienced in Allen Bradley, Siemens, controls, and programming systems including ABB robotics
4th Class Power Engineering Certification or Steam Boiler experience including knowledge in CIP/COP systems
Refrigeration and air handling systems troubleshooting experience
