Senior Tester

Overview:
Our client is implementing a new SaaS-based Student Information System (SIS) with complex integrations to other internal systems.
The R3 Testing Team is responsible for the testing of the initiative's holistic areas and must be able to carefully plan a unified approach months in advance for how the project's many features intersect and come together to build a cohesive and seamless testing experience.
The R3 Testing Team is tasked with testing the new SaaS Solution with respect to the existing business processes/workflows/business rules.
As such, currently seeking a Senior Tester responsible for the integrity of system testing and acceptance activities, including software security testing as part of a large organizational project, to join our Ottawa, Ontario team.

Deliverables:

Under the general direction of the R3 Senior Test Lead, the Senior Tester will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

Assist Senior Test Lead with organization of Testing plans in MS Azure DevOps (ADO) and mentoring of the junior members of the Testing Team.
Ensuring proper testing coverage for the following Testing Types:
ERP System's Testing
Integration System Testing (IST)
Security Testing
Portal and Accessibility Testing
Data Migration Testing
Functional End-to-End Testing
Configuration Testing
Mobile Devices Testing
Regression Testing
Business Process/Flow Testing
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Execute Test plans, Test suite, and Test cases, as per industry standards, for the full SIS implementation.
Provide test execution and status reports, updating test execution statuses in Azure DevOps (including test cases, defects/bugs, or issues).
Prepare and document Test Cases in Azure DevOps from Business and/or Functional Requirements (BRDs/FRDs), including prep test data, test steps, and expected results, screens, and additional documents as required.
Linkage to requirements (RTM, DevOps), as well as linkage to defects/bugs found with examples.
Preparing and documenting defects/bugs, including issues/defect entries and tracking in MS DevOps, including full reproducing steps and screens, and follow-up to resolution (including retest to closure).
Analyze and communicate ERP requirements, Test cases, or defects/bugs found, to the Development team and/or Functional teams.
Provide technical training as required to other more junior Test team members.

Job Qualifications:

Completed a 3-year College diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience with performing integration systems testing, creating test cases in Azure DevOps from given requirements, including
BRDs/FRDs, then executing test cases, logging defects/bugs, and providing status updates/reporting daily in DevOps.
Demonstrated experience in working with multi-functional/multi-site teams.
Demonstrated expertise in software bug identification, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
Experience in functional, integration, regression, and non-functional (NFRs) testing.
Tools expertise in Defect and Test Case Management (including MS Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent), including linkage in terms of RTM.
Capable of understanding complex systems and the inter-dependencies with subsystems/applications for integration.
Demonstrated experience in SaaS and COTS products, Azure Cloud, and API (UI) testing.
Experience in Performance, Load/Performance testing, Accessibility, and Mobile device testing.
Demonstrated experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Advanced skillsets with Microsoft Excel (and Smarsheet), Word, Visio and PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
Previous experience with a Student Information System is an asset.

Hybrid Role - Work will be split between on-site and remote as needed.
