Director of Infrastructure Services

Location: Northeastern Ontario

The Director of Infrastructure Services manages municipal operations and infrastructure, including roads, bridges, landfills, airport, waste and recycling systems, and water systems. This role provides technical expertise, oversees departmental staff, and ensures efficient daily operations.

The Director is accountable for coordinating functions with contractors and consultants and implementing capital work plans in line with budget goals and Council objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and supervise the town's Operations and Infrastructure department, covering road maintenance, winter control, bridges, and more.

Coordinate with other departments and external agencies.

Optimize service delivery methods and allocate resources.

Represent the department in community and governmental relations.

Ensure compliance with drinking water and wastewater regulations.

Manage municipal buildings, plants, and fleet.

Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures.

Oversee grant applications, bids, and service requests.

Support the CAO and Municipal Council, attending management meetings as required.

Qualifications:

University degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technologist designation preferred.

5 years of management experience in infrastructure operations, with 3 years in municipal services.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and regulations.

Experience managing staff in a unionized environment.

Proficiency in municipal public works, including roads and water systems.

Skilled in Engineering, GIS, Asset Management, and AutoCAD.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with officials, staff, and the public.

Valid G driver's license and satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
