Description

The Engineering, Design & Technology department at General Dynamics Land Systems - Canada (GDLS-C) has multiple positions available within our Project Engineering area of the organization. The Project Engineering positions will be available to support multiple programs with our customers.

Key Job Elements:

As a member of the Project Engineering Team, you will be responsible to assist in executing and coordinating GDLS-C Engineering efforts and will lead the technical aspects of subcontractor activities
Provide guidance with respect to the technical issues of the subcontract and coordinate to achieve the larger project execution objectives
Leading and coordinating updates and reviews of the subcontract(s) requirements, the successful candidate will ensure compliance with internal Engineering processes and customer-specific expectations

Planning and Analysis

As a project management specialist, you will coordinate and assist with project planning and execution for scope, cost and schedule
You will use internal Engineering tools to identify, communicate and mitigate risk to ensure project success
As a key contributor to securing the contract, the successful candidate will support development of Engineering Proposals and estimates; and provide technical guidance and support to Program and Contracts during negotiations

Collaboration and Communication

Keep internal and external stakeholders informed of progress & status
Support preparation of project deliverables, attend customer meetings as required by contract and project scope of work (Start of Work Meetings, Technical interchange meetings, Customer Design reviews, etc.)
Liaise with other GDLS divisions and other departments to ensure all technical solutions are developed in accordance with contract and GDLS-C requirements
Coordinate subcontract technical issues, prepare responses, address requests issued directly or through Program Office and Contracts

Required Qualifications:

University Degree or college diploma in a Business or technical discipline;
Relevant project engineering experience;
Have a positive attitude and be able to work well in a team environment;
Ability to be productive and multi-task in a demanding work environment;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
Ability to travel (10% Cdn) and (10% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport; and

Ability to acquire and maintain a Canadian Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical knowledge and experience with armoured vehicles
Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team and provide technical leadership and direction as appropriate
Experience supervising technical personnel, delegating tasks and managing cost /schedule
Experienced in major contract/subcontracts development and execution
