Our Dispatcher provides an integral link between our Dealer Support Centre, our Drivers, and our Dealers. The Dispatcher will be coordinating and dispatching Driver backhauls ensuring efficient optimization of routes, equipment, and Drivers. Led by the Supervisor, Dispatch, this opportunity will suit someone with excellent communication skills and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Plan, schedule and execute inbound load appointments at various vendors throughout Western Canada and Ontario for Drivers, and 3pl carriers on their way to the Dealer Support Centre.
Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety guidelines and legislation when assigning dispatches to validate and maximize driver hours of service and load deliveries.
Utilize the Transportation, Planning & Execution (TP&E) WMS system to record pickups and maintain pertinent route information.
Ensures inbound gate appointments are assigned for all incoming trailers, loaded or empty.
Responsible to contact carriers and arrange quotes to schedule third party backhaul operations.
Update and effectively communicate any changes or issues with backhaul inquiries. Collaborate with other internal departments to resolve issues.
Serve as the backup to the Dispatch Supervisor, as required.
Provide KPI's for reporting as required.
Receive and enter pickups from vendors by phone and email. Verify / confirm trip reports and pickups within the Transportation system (TMS).
Be available and on call 24 hours/ 7 days per week for anomalies and emergencies.
We're looking for:
Understanding of transportation industry and knowledge of Home's shipping/delivery procedures are beneficial.
Strong computer skills with ability to use multiple programs and systems. Knowledge and/or experience with the Manhattan TP&E system is an asset.
Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance related to the position (i.e. Dangerous Goods, Hours of Work, etc.).
Familiarity with the road network throughout Western Canada.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with confidence and professionalism. Great organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as play an active role within the Dispatch team.
We're looking for:
Valid Alberta Electrical Journeyman Certificate required, Red Seal Certification an asset.
1-2 years relative electrician experience, with experience working in an industrial environment.
Install new components, repair, and maintain electrical/mechanical equipment and systems according to the Electrical Safety Code.
Respond to and correct equipment failures in a timely manner. Troubleshoot conveyance issues and understand resources needed to resolve them.
Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures; identify issues as they occur and take appropriate action to resolution.
Perform complex maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specifications.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
