Position Summary

The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver technical functions that support the high school science programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
coordinating the operation of the technical laboratory programs
establishing work plans to meet daily program objectives
applying specialized knowledge of stoichiometric calculations and aseptic techniques to provide chemicals, equipment and other program resources
evaluating the effectiveness of technical laboratory programs and implement required changes
performing preventative maintenance on lab equipment and scheduling repairs
managing inventory of chemicals and specialized equipment including ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment needed for labs
acting as the key resource in order to research, implement and monitor WHMIS and OH&S safety standards
coordinating proper disposal of hazardous chemicals as per EPSB guidelines
Education/Qualifications
a diploma in a related field
a minimum of two years of related experience
knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and standards
knowledge of chemical storage, handling and disposal procedures
advanced computer skills
First Aid, WHMIS, TDG

Rate of Pay

$24.48 - $31.18 per hour
