On behalf of our client employer in Waterloo, we are searching for a General Accountant with 5 or ore years of experience to join their team in a fulltime permanent role!
Reporting directly to the Controller the General Accountant is responsible for providing accurate information to various levels of management and team members, including analysis and operational reporting. The General Accountant assists the Controller in maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures as well as the preparation of financial and operational reports.

Responsibilities:

This role will be responsible for numerous administrative tasks as well as analytical tasks and report preparation.

Support Accounts Payable, when necessary
Support Payroll function, when necessary
Prepare month end journal entries and schedules
Prepare month end account reconciliations
Prepare various weekly reports for distribution
Prepare Capital Request documentation
Manage Tooling Project tracking
Process daily sales invoicing
Analyse and prepare inventory results
Prepare labour and overhead rates
Assist in preparation of requests from various Departments such as Internal Audit, tax etc.
Various other assignments and preparation of reports as assigned by the Controller
Other related duties as required or assigned

Requirements:

Ability to read, understand, and speak English
Experience in D365 or similar software
Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookup etc, are required
Ability to enter data and submit queries on database ERP system
Ability to work independently and as a team
Ability to interact with all members of the extended finance team to work towards the core principles of the department
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of accounting principles
Responsible, reliable, and ability to keep information confidential
University or college education with a focus in Accounting
5 years of experience within a Manufacturing environment, preferred
Must have the ability to work in Canada
Comfortable on the Plant Floor
