Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week) Salary: 45.00 CAD per hour Benefits: Extended health care Requirements for the position: 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry, including experience as a construction supervisor; experience in glazing and knowledge of window wall and curtain wall systems would be considered as an asset. Good English, excellent written and verbal communications skills. Education: College diploma in civil engineering or in construction technology; Bachelors degree is preferred. Main duties: Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion and occupancy; Manage projects budget and coordinate any changes, forecast budget and track expenditures; Create and oversee construction schedules and specifications; Liaise with project team, clients, consultants, architects and sub trades to achieve a successful end-result, negotiate project's revisions, changes and additions; Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables, monitor the execution and implementation of the project schedule; Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations; Hire, coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors; Oversee the purchase of building materials; Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory; Meet contractual conditions of performance; Review the work progress on daily basis; Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status; Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones; Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and RCOs; Manage all change orders relating to project construction; Analyze, manage and mitigate risks; Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques; Foster and enhance owner, architect, subcontractor and vendor relations.
