We have an opening for a skilled Carpenter with a minimum of 5 years of professional carpentry experience.

Within our production team, you will work collaboratively under the guidance of the Production Supervisor and Lead to refine and advance the processes used to pre-fabricate our product, as well as be involved in the continuous development of the infrastructure projects within the manufacturing facility as we continue to expand and grow. In this role, you will leverage your solid carpentry skills, meticulous attention to detail, and your capacity to function effectively both autonomously and as part of a team-orientated setting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in carpentry techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

This position will be based on-site at our Delta, BC, manufacturing facility.

Number of positions: Addition of 2 new position
Location: DELTA, BC - On-site full-time in the pre-fab facility
Work Hours: Day Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Education & Qualifications, Required:
Highschool graduation, an asset

Nice to Haves, but can be certified on the job:
Red Seal Journeyman, an asset
Rigging ticket
Class I forklift license
Telehandler ticket
Level 1 or 2 Occupational First Aid certification
WHIMS
Skills & Experience, Required:
5+ years of Carpentry experience
Skilled in framing, rough and finish carpentry work
Able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Knowledgeable and familiar with local building codes
Able to work independently and with minimal supervision and work collaboratively in teams.
Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques.
Experience with Rigging
Good understanding of quality control principles
Willingness to practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions.
Able to follow instructions and complete work tasks on schedule with clear timelines.
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully both internally and externally.

Nice to Haves:
Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
Experience with manual & digitally assisted mass timber construction tasks.
Experience with prefabrication of mass timber panels and modules, including finishing.
The Role & Responsibilities - Carpenter:
Arrive on-time and prepared to work, with the necessary tools to complete required tasks.
Precisely frame structures within established tolerances.
Interpret and work from blueprints and shop drawings.
Calculate the type and quantity of materials required for each project.
Develop layouts, templates, and jigs as needed.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials.
Skillfully operate a variety of hand tools.
Safely and efficiently conduct the movement of materials and finished product through the Intelligent City Factory, including through the use of machinery and overhead cranes.
Conduct thorough quality inspections on completed work.
Prepare materials and set up the work area, including necessary equipment.
Safely handle, lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Apply industry best practices to ensure optimal results in fabrication.
Identify and promptly address any challenges or issues that arise during fabrication, including adjustments to measurements or techniques.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve quality, and reduce waste.
Comply with all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Comply with our administrative policies and procedures as set forth from time to time
Contribute to team efforts.
Complete other duties as we may request which are consistent with your abilities and responsibilities.
Important to Mention!
Must provide your own CSA-approved 6" safety footwear, required.
Certain job tasks will require you to be clean-shaven and wear a fit-tested respirator or N95 mask
Proof of ability to remain and work in Canada.
Successful candidates may be required to submit to a background check.
We expect the hourly pay within the range for this position will vary within the range of $32 - $36 per hour. Your pay will be based on market evaluation and various job-related factors, including your past work experience, relevant education and certifications (journeyman/unticketed) etc Benefits offered after 3 months.
