FRENCH TEACHER - Middle School Part Time - 0.6 FTE 2024-25 School Year

Brockton School is seeking a part time Middle School French teacher. The French teacher will work collaboratively with members of the MYP team, the Grade 6-7 POD team, the Languages Department Chair, and with other members of Faculty/Staff. As a member of the teaching team, this teacher will report to the Divisional Directors and collaborate closely with the MYP Coordinator.

Requirements:

BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) or alternative as supported by the BC Teachers Regulation Branch.

Interest in being part of a dynamic and visionary IB school community.

Post-secondary degree in an area of Languages with specific experience in French.

Legal standing to work in Canada.

Ideal characteristics:

Experience in bringing a diversity of voices and worldviews to classroom material and learning experiences, including Indigenous, local, and global perspectives.

Willingness to collaborate with colleagues to build Unit plans

Experience with teaching French through the communicative approach Experience with teaching FSL at the middle school level

Native-like command of the French language

3-5 years of successful experience teaching French to non-French speaking elementary age

students

Salary Range : Brockton Faculty Salary Grid

Example - For TQS Category 5 (Step 0) $63,302 to $104,047 (Step 10 ) per annum
