The annual pay range for a full time teacher is $61,522 to $108,126, with placement on the range based on experience and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
Salmo Secondary School is looking for a 0.8571 FTE Term French Teacher. The successful applicant will be teaching in a vibrant school where collaboration with peers helps guide our work.
The awarded applicant will have recent demonstrated successful experience working in a secondary and/or middle school setting. The awarded applicant will be innovative, creative, and demonstrate understanding of the BC Redesigned Curriculum The applicant will have experience in teaching Core French at the middle and/or secondary level.
The awarded applicant will be able to work effectively with students who have diverse learning and behavior challenges. They will be a person who is continually striving to improve pedagogy in a changing educational environment.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Education or higher.
• Certification through the Teacher Regulation Branch with fees paid.
The awarded candidate will be proficient in:
• Willingness to work closely with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and the community
• Collaborative planning and teaching, curriculum implementation
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Knowledge of current instructional practices and new curriculum including working with the competencies
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
• Demonstrate experience in Middle and Secondary Core French
• Proficiency and current use of technologies to enhance and personalize learning
• Building positive, collaborative relationships
• Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to be flexible, encouraging and engaging
