SAP Development Lead (BTP/ABAP)

Contract Term: 9 months, renewable
Work location: Calgary, AB; Onsite 4 days a week; if a non-local candidate, T&L will be paid.

Our client, a global leading IT company, is looking for an SAP Development Lead.

As the SAP Development Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of developers in designing, implementing, and maintaining SAP solutions to meet business requirements. The candidate must have Experience in BTP implementation and understands the role it places in SAP clean core methodology.

The individual would be required to interact with Technology leadership at client, work with SAP to make sure we adhere to clean core principles and lead the offshore team in day-to-day delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP BTP development, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of SAP developers in the design, development, and implementation of SAP solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
• Manage the full development lifecycle, including planning, estimation, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability of developed solutions.
• Stay current with SAP technologies and best practices and assess their applicability to the organization's needs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization within the SAP development lifecycle.
• Work closely with other IT teams and business stakeholders to integrate SAP solutions with other systems and processes.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for production issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact to operations.
• Collaborate with external vendors and consultants as needed to supplement internal resources and expertise.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP development, with a focus on ABAP programming.
• Proven experience in leading SAP development projects from design to delivery.
• Strong technical skills in SAP ERP modules such as FI/CO, SD, MM.
• Excellent understanding of SAP architecture, data structures, and integration techniques.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Fiori is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
