Duties and Responsibilities:
Set manholes to grade
Must be able to read a tape measure.
Behaves in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers and others on the work sites.
Reports incidents, injuries and near misses and participates in the investigative process.
Assists other employees when required.
Attends and participates in toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled.
Adheres to company policies, procedures, and directions regarding standards of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments.
Complies with the standards and procedures of North Star's health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Maintenance labourer.
Experience working in the construction industry.
Understand elevations and grading.
Thorough understanding of construction procedures and safety practices.
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS2020) Certification.
Ground Disturbance.
Confined Space.
Valid First Aid.
Must have Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean current drivers abstract.
Must have own transportation with strong knowledge of Calgary and the surrounding area.
Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and reliability.
Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.
Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends during the work season April to December.
Must be physically fit to perform manual labour in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting.
Must have CSA approved safety boots.
