Niagara Children's Centre is recognized throughout the Niagara Region as the provider of rehabilitation and support services to over 5,800 children and youth with physical, developmental and communicative delays and disabilities each year. Core services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services, augmentative and alternative communication, family services and therapeutic recreation. Our family centred programs aim at helping each child achieve their own unique potential within their home, school and in the community.

Niagara Children's Centre is looking for a:

Human Resources Director (Permanent 1.0 FTE)

The Human Resources (HR) Director is accountable for ensuring that the Niagara Children's Centre provides best practice human resource services to all Centre employees, students and volunteers.

The HR Director will lead human resources, labour relations, wellness and engagement programs. This role will also lead the volunteer and student programs of the Centre, utilizing HR best practices with these key program areas of the Centre.

The HR Director serves as a member of the Centre's Senior Management Team (SMT) and reports to the CEO.

This role supports a growing workforce of roughly 140 employees and will be based mostly onsite at the St. Catharines location.

To be considered, candidates will possess the following qualifications:
5-7 years of progressive HR experience in leadership roles;
Hold a valid CHRL designation;
Proven experience leading and working within a non-profit, unionized environment;
Willingness to support staff, students and volunteers with their HR needs;
Ability to think outside of the box in order to implement initiatives and do things differently;
Sound understanding of employment and related legislation - provincial and federal;
Experience with building and nurturing credibility and effective relationships with all levels of an organization including Board of Directors and other children's treatment centres, and;
Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the Centre's goals while fostering a positive work environment.
