Your opportunity: The Department of Historical Studies is a large, multi-disciplinary Department that has been growing steadily over the past ten years. As we plan for the future, an critical component is ensuring the quality and coherence of our curricular offerings. Under direction of the Chair and reporting to the Academic Counsellor, the Curriculum Mapping Assistant will play a central role by managing our curricular review process, and ensuring that all of the courses in the Department fit appropriately into our respective undergraduate programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating curriculum maps
  • Tracking and monitoring curriculum issues raised by contacts
  • Advising staff on program curriculum change policies and procedures
  • Coordinating accreditation and/or program audit processes
  • Coordinating the production and distribution of communication materials
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years of related experience
  • Experience with curriculum design and evaluation, committee support, and report writing
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, project management and time management skills
  • Ability to deal with faculty, students and professional colleagues in a tactful, professional and diplomatic manner
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to deal with competing demands in a busy environment
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Proficiency with ROSI, Acorn, Degree Explorer or comparable software, Internet and email
