The Office of the Registrar is responsible for student recruitment and admissions, direct and online service to current students, including registration, financial aid, scholarships, academic assessments, graduation and petitions. It also provides course scheduling, administration of tests and exams, enrolment data analysis and business intelligence. Your opportunity: Under the general direction of the Assistant Registrar & Manager of Admissions, as the Senior Admissions and Transfer Credit Assessor, you will play a pivotal role in helping to support campus enrolment goals by ensuring that admissions and transfer credit decisions are made in an efficient and equitable manner. You will use your expertise and prior knowledge in admissions and transfer credit to research and recommend policy changes. You will look for opportunities to refine processes and leverage technology and will work with a team of admissions and transfer credit staff to accomplish these goals. You will have the opportunity to grow and develop your own skills as a member of a team of professionals who value inclusion, collaboration and professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences.
  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications.
  • Applying established standards to ensure adherence with transfer credit rules and guidelines.
  • Analyzing administrative processes and procedures and recommending changes for improvement.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to support initiatives.
  • Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance.
  • Planning and implementing workflow for a group.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Six to seven years related experience in admissions and/or transfer credit, preferably within the University of Toronto or similar university setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of educational systems, both domestic and international.
  • Experience advising potential students.
  • Experience training and developing staff.
  • Strong leadership experience serving as a resource to staff and work study students by providing job-related guidance.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office Professional Suite with particular proficiency in database and spreadsheet applications, internet and email applications.
  • Excellent skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database management.
  • Ability to develop and maintain web-based information and applications.
  • Sound judgement, interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing, interpreting, and analyzing detailed statistical reports.
  • Proven track record of conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyze detailed information.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 13 -- $83,150 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $106,336. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
