They are looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant who will be responsible for the monthly external financial reporting packages and managing the day-to-day financial operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting.

About the Opportunity

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations including fixed and intangible assets, accruals, payroll and commission liabilities, including sales amortization schedules and reconciliations
  • Analyze monthly financial data to identify trends and variances. Corroborate financial information with FP&A and department stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package for the distribution to the Board of Directors, Executive Management, Lenders and Investors. This includes the preparation of the consolidated financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and MD&A.
  • Lead the accounting outsourcing activities between Toronto and overseas service providers to ensure monthly activities are done on time and on budget, this includes liaising with the local accounting firms to ensure bookkeeping, tax and other statutory requirements are performed on time in accordance with local GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Research complex accounting issues, corporate transactions and lease agreements, and draft technical accounting policies and documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to accounting matters as required, and ensure urgent issues are addressed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Assist in special finance projects and initiatives. Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  • Prepare stand-alone financial statements for subsidiary entities and fulfill further reporting requirements.
  • Support the interim and annual external financial audits, including the preparation of working papers and technical accounting memos under US GAAP.
  • Assist with the coordination and review of tax compliance of all subsidiaries, working alongside management and tax advisors.

About You

Minimum 3-5 years of financial accounting and reporting experience. University bachelor's degree or College Diploma in relevant Finance field. CPA designation or in progress.

Salary Range

Base salary of $90,000 - $95,000/year including target bonus and equity participation!
