Responsibilities:

As an Investment Consulting Analyst, you will provide technical support to Investment and Retirement clients across Canada. This position directly supports the organization's objective of providing a superior level of Investment and Retirement advice to Plan sponsors and Plan members. The Investment Consulting Analyst will work both independently and with a team to review, analyse, market and provide recommendations on Investments, Plan design and utilization of funds and tools. The position includes the many detailed and broad functions involved in reviewing, auditing and analysing investments and retirement plans. Develop and maintain a close relationship with the Investment and Retirement team, record keepers and investment managers. Support the Consultants through involvement in preparation of prospect and client presentations and reports (e.g. investment reviews, governance reviews, investment manager searches, record keeper searches and ad-hoc projects). Data validation and enhancements to a proprietary investment performance monitoring system. Analyse investment manager performance. Evaluate and judge the similarities, differences and capabilities of the various investment managers and record keepers. Attend investment manager and record keeper due diligence meetings. Prepare investment manager meeting summaries for ratings/internal discussions and for clients. Research industry trends. Proactively present new ideas to improve efficiencies.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business or other related areas. Two to three years of current work experience in a similar role would be an asset. Interest in capital markets. Strong analytical, mathematical and diagnostic skills. Strong planning and time management skills. Able to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic environment. Strong work ethics and willingness to work non-standard hours in an office environment full-time. Microsoft Office – Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of editing/creating VBA macros would be an asset. Strategic thinker and solution minded. Quality written and oral communications. Dedicated team player but is also able to work effectively individually. Collaborate effectively with internal team as well as with external service providers. Pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is mandatory for this role.
