About the Opportunity

• Income and Sales Tax Compliance - research and answer any Tax and/or Treasury questions from operations, managers and staff, including requesting government rulings and interpretation of tax legislation, reviewing contracts for tax issues. Ensure sales tax returns and remittances are completed on time. Assist Corporate tax with income tax compliance, including providing information for preparation of tax returns. Prepare monthly and quarterly tax provisions.
• Tax and Treasury Accounting - Review and approve various monthly tax and treasury G/L reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy. Establish rates, allocate and reconcile bank and insurance charges. Manage CRA and Provincial Tax Audits and Sales Tax Recovery Consultants (both income and sales tax). Engage external consultants as necessary to respond to assessments.

About You

• CPA designation preferred
• University or College Education preferably in accounting, finance, tax
• 4-5 years of strong Tax Experience, ideally tax experience in a major accounting firm

Salary

$100,000 - $120,000/year
