Entuitive is looking for an Intermediate Code Consultant to fulfil several key technical roles. The successful individual is expected to be an independent leader, a subject matter expert in building code compliance and fire safety engineering practices, and will be client facing. This role will be part of the wider Fire Engineering Team at Entuitive and the candidate will initially focus on delivering projects and contributing to the growth of code consulting work.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for reviewing building plans for code compliance.
  • Preparation of correspondence and technical reports.
  • Identifying opportunities for Alternative Solutions.
  • Interfacing with the rest of the Fire Engineering Team who will provide detailed fire engineering support.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of experience in building code compliance and providing input to performance-based Alternative Solutions in a consulting environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in civil or mechanical engineering, architecture, or a related field, or Diploma in Architectural or Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
  • Registered as or working towards registration as a Professional Engineer or other professional designation such as BCIN Professional.
  • Experience interpreting and applying regulatory codes and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop performance-based solutions meeting the requirements of the regulations and achieving approvals.
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks, including with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proven client service capability along with the experience to effectively manage multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while juggling competing priorities.
  • Knowledge and interest related to embodied carbon is considered an asset
  • The willingness to be Entuitive.
