We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based in our Brampton office.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and evaluate data from the general ledger and various departments to compile accurate and timely consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare and submit T2 corporate tax returns in full compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal tax laws.
- Ensure the accuracy and punctual submission of T2 filings to prevent interest charges and avoid non-compliance penalties.
- Manage the preparation and filing of HST/GST returns, staying current with tax legislation and communicating relevant updates to the business.
- Respond to tax-related inquiries from internal stakeholders, external auditors, and government agencies in a timely and professional manner.
- Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and addressing requests from auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Assist with routine accounting tasks, including processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and executing month-end closing procedures.
- Carry out monthly accounting duties such as HST/GST filings and general bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
- Review audit outcomes, evaluate potential tax consequences, and resolve issues identified by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
- Collaborate with external tax consultants and advisors to ensure adherence to CRA requirements and minimize compliance risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance/ CPA Candidate
- 2-3 years of related job experience in corporate taxation, with a focus on T2 tax returns and compliance.
- Experience in Tax, tax auditing and with online tax research tools, materials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the aptitude to learn new software quickly.
- Previous experience with QuickBooks and Sage 300 will be an asset.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook.
- Ability to process large volume of invoices and payments, while prioritizing competing tasks.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines with competing and shifting priorities.
