We're looking for a mission-driven Analyst, Financial Reporting and Planning who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly internal financial reports and quarter/year-end external reporting packages for the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, including data collection, validation, and consolidation.
  • Contribute to the development of rolling forecasts and long-term financial planning.
  • Analyze financial performance using both traditional and non-traditional KPIs, and other metrics (financial ratios, trends, risks, opportunities, macroeconomic factors, etc.).
  • Collaborate with business units to understand financial variances and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards using tools such as NSPB (formerly PBCS), NetSuite, Excel, Tableau/Power BI.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools (SAP Concur, NetSuite, NSPB, Tableau/Power BI).
  • Participate in month-end close activities and ensure accuracy of financial data and support the accounting team in interim and year-end audit engagements.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

Requirements

Who you are:

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required.
  • CPA designation completed or in progress is preferred.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in financial planning & analysis and/or an accounting role required.
  • Prior experience working with non-profit and/or charitable organizations would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and principles.
  • Knowledge of Canadian statutory requirements for non-profit and charitable organizations.
  • Strong understanding of the relationship of internal controls and business processes with financial statements.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Macros, and VBAs) required.
  • Experience analyzing general ledger reports and converting them into financial statements in Excel required.
  • Experience using financial systems such as SAP Concur, Oracle NetSuite, NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB), or other financial systems required.
  • Experience of creating dashboards and reports in business intelligence tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a desire to automate inefficient tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
