Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary, construction, quantity and as-built surveys
  • Accurate survey notes and sketches
  • Precise installation of stake lines and survey control
  • Complete field survey requests, measurements, setup and configuring survey instruments including grade control machines
  • Perform topographic surveys to document construction progress
  • Experience with Trimble considered an asset
  • Experience with drones considered an asset

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in construction survey setting
  • Skills to carry out Construction grading, layout and topographical using GPS equipment, levels and TPS
  • Familiar with surveying principles and theory, field methods, practices, concepts, procedures and safety practices
  • Experience setting up, operating and maintaining robotic total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Propellor programs
  • Must be able to perform all survey layout calculations
  • Ability to create TIN files
  • Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays (during construction season)
  • Must have a valid Alberta Driver's License
  • Standard First Aid (training provided)
  • Must be highly organized and motivated to lead a survey crew and work within a Team frame-work
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and show initiative
