Reporting to the Director or Experience Design, the UX Designer is responsible for leading user-centered design for one of Aviso's core products, which will involve discovering problems to solve, defining solutions conceptually, and delivering seamless, engaging, and intuitive experiences for customers.

This role will need exceptional skills in abstract thinking and knowledge organization to identify key opportunities and clear design rationale from various information sources long before you even start working on UI. You will work collaboratively with your cross functional team and your solid understanding of user research, interaction design principles, information design and usability evaluation will enable you to design highly functional and delightful solutions that deliver exceptional user value. Your passion for the discipline means you're up-to-date on best practices in design and design process and you can share your knowledge via mentorship, feedback, and guidance to fellow designers and your product team. Through strong communication and leadership this role will be a key voice in advocating for user-centered design within the organization.

Who you are:

You advocate service excellence and work to deliver solutions that meet the needs. You proactively develop strategic partnerships that allow Aviso Wealth to become a trusted advisor and partner
  • Execution – You are committed to achieving your goals and to succeed. This includes focusing on "getting things done", as well as recognizing and taking advantage of opportunities as they arise. You are consistently looking for ways to improve your personal best and see value in continuous improvement. You take accountability for your actions and learn from mistakes
  • Collaboration – You work collaboratively with others with the common goal of driving positive results. Making meaningful contributions to your team to achieve organizational goals is a priority. You proactively encourage collaboration, build trust and inclusion, and work to establish effective relationships both inside and outside of the organization

What your day looks like:

  • Identify, analyze, and perform user research and data analysis to clarify opportunities, uncover issues, and set target metrics that provide user and business value
  • Develop conceptual diagrams, task flows, information architecture, wireframes, and interaction design specifications to ensure the users' needs are being met across all stages of the experience
  • Conduct competitive analysis and learn industry standards to leverage best practices and innovate new potential for our customers
  • Produce product prototypes to aid in the facilitation of user testing activities
  • Take ownership over your product area and create vision documents, iteration plans, and strategy decks to advocate for design direction in a lean, build-measure-learn, Agile environment
  • Collaborate with Product and Development to implement UX designs and continually iterate on designs to deliver the optimal user experience
  • Evangelize the ROI of user-centered design with our business partners, leveraging knowledge of UX fundamentals to avoid subjective decision making and ensuring we are continually advocating for optimal experience outcomes based on solid design rationale
  • Provide feedback, critique, and guidance to your fellow designers to elevate the practice of design at Aviso

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • 8+ years of UX design for both mobile apps and responsive web
