We are seeking a Data Migration/Transitions Manager to join our Client Delivery team. Due to the specialized requirements of law firms, specific project management is needed throughout the Client journey. This includes the complex process of transitioning client data to LEAP. The Migration/Transitions team is not only responsible for the technical aspects but also manages clients' expectations in relation to data collection, migration, and LEAP delivery. Data Migration/Transitions Manager will focus on the technical aspects of transitioning data, investigating, and reviewing ETL mapping for competitor case management systems, as well as assisting with setting our clients' expectations in the lead-up to the data transition.

The Data Migration/Transitions Manager will use the data migration tools available as well as technical expertise to ensure data moving from a legacy system is properly mapped, tested, and the processes checked prior to the release for our migration staff. This role will report to the Director of Client Delivery.

Managing our clients' expectations in the lead up to the data migration and implementation with regards to software functionality, what's included in the data migration, and the transition timescales.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee quality assurance of completed data transitions in terms of accounting balances.
  • Answer high level client questions during the pre-implementation process.
  • Support Data Transition Specialists, Implementation Coordinators, and Partners with queries on migrated data and LEAP's data transition software.
  • Ability to manage, guide, and mentor a busy team effectively.
  • Liaise with LEAP Global Transitions on various projects and bugs.
  • Propose policy, process and procedural changes, making them more effective.
  • Stay up to date with current developments and trends in areas of expertise.
  • Increase speed of client data transitions, and intelligence of data mapping by improving data transition solutions.
  • Train Data Transition Specialists on data mapping and finding variances.
  • Creation and maintenance of documentation, processes and internal systems.
  • Work across functional and business boundaries while sharing ideas and resources.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of solid knowledge of ETL.
  • A minimum of 4 years of strong knowledge or background in legal bookkeeping or accounting (trust and general account).
  • A minimum of 3 years of field mapping (source/target) and MS SQL.
  • A minimum of 3 years of strong VBA and Excel skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable management experience/leading teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong client service focus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage pressure; resilient with the ability to quickly recover from roadblocks while maintaining strong performance.
  • Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risk effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated use of good judgement.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and practices (e.g., matters, unbilled fees, disbursements, safe custody) a definite asset.
  • Strong decision-making skills – ability to identify and understand key issues, problems, and opportunities; compares data from different sources to draw conclusions; uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions
  • Team oriented – demonstrated ability working within a team to move toward the completion of goals.
  • Works effectively aligning groups including those with diverse goals and conflicting interests
