We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for our custom web platform. You will work closely with software engineers, UX designers, and product stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate, accessible, and aligned with platform development.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and maintain developer-focused documentation, including API references, data schemas, integration guides, and architecture overviews

Develop user-facing documentation such as onboarding guides, feature walkthroughs, FAQs, and contextual help content

Collaborate with engineering teams to translate technical specifications into clear, accurate, and structured documents

Work with UX teams to align tone, voice, and structure for user help materials

Build and maintain documentation portals or systems (e.g., MkDocs, Docusaurus, Confluence, GitHub Docs)

Edit, revise, and standardize content to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability

Proactively identify documentation needs as new features or systems are developed

Champion documentation best practices across the organization

Requirements

2-5+ years of experience in technical writing for software platforms

Proven ability to write for both developer audiences and non-technical users

Strong understanding of software development workflows, tools, and terminology

Experience working with engineering teams in an Agile or hybrid development environment

Familiarity with documentation tools such as Markdown, Git, MkDocs, Notion, or similar

Excellent communication skills with a keen eye for detail and consistency

Comfortable working in a hybrid setup with on-site collaboration in Toronto

Nice to Have:

Experience documenting RESTful APIs, SDKs, or event-driven systems

Knowledge of version control and developer workflows (GitHub, CI/CD, etc.)

Familiarity with UX writing principles or microcopy design

Experience working with cross-functional teams in a product-led environment
