We're on a mission to make manufacturing more resilient.

Basetwo provides manufacturing engineers with a low-code AI platform that helps them troubleshoot and optimize their production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Engineers use the Basetwo platform to:

  • improve their understanding of their plant
  • make better decisions in real-time
  • build robust data transformation pipelines
  • ingest and connect siloed databases

The Role

As a Frontend Software Engineer, you'll play a critical role in shaping the user experience and technical foundation of our platform. You'll be responsible for building and scaling complex, data-intensive interfaces—and just as importantly, for improving developer velocity through better tooling, design systems, and engineering practices.

You'll work closely with design, product, and backend teams to define and deliver intuitive, responsive interfaces that help engineers solve real problems on the plant floor. You'll also help set the standard for how we build, review, and maintain frontend code at Basetwo.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with technical leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable, performant frontend systems
  • Build elegant and responsive UI components that support a wide range of data workflows
  • Define and maintain a shared design system and component library
  • Drive improvements to our frontend development processes, CI/CD workflows, and build tools
  • Mentor other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical design discussions
  • Collaborate with product and design to create a cohesive and thoughtful user experience
  • Work closely with backend engineers to shape API design for optimal frontend integration
  • Set standards around accessibility, performance, testing, and maintainability

What You'll Need

  • You care deeply about the user experience and approach UI challenges with empathy and pragmatism
  • You enjoy working across the product lifecycle—from feature planning and prototyping to shipping and iteration
  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production web applications
  • Deep expertise in React (or similar), with solid TypeScript and modern JavaScript fundamentals
  • Experience owning or contributing to a design system or component library
  • Familiarity with performance profiling, accessibility best practices, and browser internals
  • Strong experience integrating with REST and/or GraphQL APIs
  • A proactive mindset when it comes to developer experience, tooling, and code quality
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bonus:

  • Experience with data-heavy UIs or scientific/engineering interfaces
  • Familiarity with visualization libraries (e.g, Plotly, D3.js)
  • Knowledge of WebGL or canvas rendering
  • Experience with frontend testing tools (e.g., Jest, Cypress)
  • Backend familiarity (Python, Node.js)
  • Experience in startup or fast-paced environments

Benefits

  • Extended Healthcare Plan (Medical, Disability, Dental & Vision)
  • Work From Home - Flexible hours
  • Stock Option Plan
  • Group Life, AD&D, and Critical Illness Insurance
