What you'll do:
Our Precision Agronomists bridge the gap between equipment, data management and crop output for our growers. Working with information gathered from equipment and field testing you will be able to advise growers on their potential output and identify where and why gaps exist. You will be tasked with supporting customers in the field and during the off-season with annual reports and recommendations that will support their operation. This role consists of:
- Providing high level, in-depth, agronomy support leveraging John Deere digital tools
- Recognizing the value of the insights gathered through working with growers and other partners to come up with new innovative solutions in agriculture
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders within the industry to support the continued adoption of precision tools within the industry
- Maintaining a high level of efficiency and knowledge, you will keep up to date with the advancing technologies within the industry
- A flexible work arrangement that may have you working within a physical location or in the field
- Supporting the sale, maintenance and future development of in-field weather station equipment
- Supporting the promotion, adoption and continued utilization of digital and precision tools
Requirements
What you bring:
- A post-secondary education with a focus in agronomy
- Proven working knowledge of plants, crops, soils, and related areas
- CCA, PAg designation would be considered an asset
- Possess a high level of understanding of regional agronomic challenges and technical knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and adopt new technologies
- Travel will be required
