Responsibilities:
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for driving the company's end-to-end supply chain, materials management, and production operations. This role ensures efficient production workflows, optimizes inventory and supply chain strategies, and drives operational excellence to meet business goals. This position will lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration between Operations and the rest of the business.
The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for the day to day operations of Blackline Safety.
Your role will be to support and enable your teams to complete projects and improve processes, following a methodology of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for triaging the Operations roadmap and allocating resources accordingly. The team leaders that will report to this position are: Materials Manager (Sustaining Procurement, Inventory Control, Planning), Production, Manager (Manufacturing), Transportation & Logistics Manager (Logistics & Pick/Pack/Ship), and Manager, Data Document Control.
Data Skills/Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, and Production Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related industries preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic operational plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement.
- Expertise in supply chain and inventory management systems (e.g., Netsuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar). APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or similar certification preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Materials & Supply Chain Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive material and supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee procurement processes, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and components.
- Monitor supplier performance and foster strategic relationships to enhance supply chain resilience.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance cost, production demands, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements in materials handling and storage.
Production Oversight
- Oversee daily production operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and cost targets.
- Collaborate with production manager to develop and refine manufacturing processes for efficiency and scalability.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for production and operational performance.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop operations staff, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure smooth operations and alignment with company goals.
- Manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on operational strategies and improvements. Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, including supply chain disruptions and production bottlenecks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain robust contingency plans for supply chain and production continuity.
