We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our Brampton, ON Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the income tax compliance process across all jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filing of T2 corporate tax returns, HST/GST returns, and tax installments, with support from external advisors as needed.
  • Review quarterly and year-end income tax provision workpapers and prepare tax disclosures for consolidated financial statements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal teams on income tax audits, addressing findings and ensuring appropriate follow-up on audit recommendations.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies related to mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and cross-border transactions to optimize corporate tax positions.
  • Assist with automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency in tax compliance and reporting.
  • Analyze the tax implications of business activities by gathering and reviewing data from the general ledger and various departments.
  • Provide tax advisory support to internal stakeholders and coordinate to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and international tax regulations.
  • Support day-to-day accounting activities related to tax, including invoice entry, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of experience in corporate taxation, including hands-on experience with T2 tax returns, compliance, and tax audits.
  • Advanced knowledge of income tax accounting and IFRS.
  • Experience managing or supporting international tax functions at the head office level is an asset.
  • Familiarity with tax research tools and materials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) with strong Excel skills; ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Previous experience with QuickBooks, Sage 300, or similar accounting software is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
