Role Summary
Reporting to the Director of Testing, the Testing Coordinator will be responsible for supporting testing engineers in project management and equipment maintenance.
Role Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Assist testing engineers in tracking the progress of samples to ensure their timely availability.
- Labelling, organizing, and preparing samples for the testing projects.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, action item logs, risk registers, and reports.
- Assist in preparing, executing, recording, and summarizing tests.
- Assist in coordinating day-to-day activities between engineering, production, quality, and external stakeholders.
- Prepare, execute, and report on other projects the Test Director assigns, either in collaboration with the team or independently.
Testing Samples, Equipment, and Resource Management
- Manage and organize test samples and equipment.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on testing equipment.
- Handle routine laboratory upkeep and maintenance tasks.
- Create, organize, and maintain the document, including data, reports, SOP, and project log/tracker etc.
Communication & Coordination
- Support the Test Director in coordinating day-to-day activities between engineering, production, quality, and external stakeholders.
- Support the Test Director in monitoring project progress and tracking key deliverables against established milestones.
Other Duties
- Team Management: Assist the Test Director in managing and training interns within the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Formal Education or Equivalent
- Completed post-secondary designation in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical Industrial, or related discipline) OR an equivalent technical background
Years of Experience
- Experience in technical engineering projects through previous work experience or hands-on projects
Competencies
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Specialized skills, knowledge, or certifications unique to this role
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mandarin speaking is an asset.
