We are looking to add a Parts Technician to the team, based in Sherwood Park, AB.

The Partd Technician is responsible for supporting the Fleet department by ensuring that mechanics have timely access to the parts required to meet daily operational demands. This role also includes providing support in the shop, yard, and warehouse as needed. The Parts Technician works closely with the Shop Supervisor to ensure an efficient and cost-effective supply of parts, contributing to the proper maintenance and availability of equipment for field crews.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to source, manage and track parts, including minimal inventory of parts stock
  • Work closely with shop manager and mechanics to facilitate quick turnaround on parts
  • Manage shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely distribution of parts
  • Support extended teams with parts sourcing and PO's
  • Compile and maintain computerized records related to parts, inventory, and logistics
  • Work closely with the Shop Supervisor to manage all relevant fleet documents, administrative tasks, and compliance items related
  • Manage various spreadsheets and ensure data accuracy
  • Perform other duties as assigned, within the area of knowledge and skills required by the job description
  • Monitor inventory stocking levels, obsolescence, and parts purchases for both manufacturer and aftermarket parts and accessories
  • Organize, log, and maintain parts stock inventory
  • Conduct annual physical inventory and reconciliation
  • Prepare and maintain routine records and travel logs
  • Compile data and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Effectively operate a vehicle and participate in receiving, storage, and distribution operations
  • Map and plan daily parts pick-up routes and work with vendors to support

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related experience, including parts sourcing, inventory tracking, and supply chain management
  • Valid Class 1A Driver's License
  • Strong understanding of methods and procedures for receiving, processing, storing, and distributing parts, materials, and equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications
  • Experience with tool crib management would be an asset
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and diplomatically, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of the powerline trade and warehouse operations are assets
