POSITION GOAL:

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate material costs are obtained and provided to support the pricing of Bids, Options, and SRCR's. This position will support analysis of margins achieved at build as compared to the targets established at the time of Bid or Option pricing and coordinate activities related to achieving the margin target with the Strategic Sourcing team. This position will lead the coordination and compliance with the company DBE Goals, New York Content, and any other contractual commitments made in customer contracts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the completion of all costing support and analysis for Contract Bid pricing submissions by the Sales team.
  • Manage the staff assigned to the Bids and Costing team, ensuring completion and accuracy of assigned tasks.
  • Represent Sourcing at Strategy meetings with Sales, PDM and CPM for each Bid and Option to ensure support of Bid/Option pricing requirements.
  • Validate material costs in Bid Submissions and prepare bridge of the bid material costs to the reference bus material cost.
  • Coordinate the activity of receiving contract specific quotations from component suppliers with Sourcing team.
  • Validate material costs for all customer change orders within the SRCR process timelines.
  • Prepare a summary of material costs and supply risks on each contract bid for Sr. Management review.
  • Ensure Contract Specific Quoted Items get purchased at agreed upon quoted values with Strategic Sourcing.
  • Assists Finance with the accuracy of reported contract margins and explanation of variances from bid costs.
  • Manage the compliance of purchasing extended warranties by SR in coordination with finance and sales.
  • Prepare contract specific DBE documents as required for Bids.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for New York Content and prepare all reports required for reporting compliance.
  • Monitor, control, and report Reference bus material cost trends on a regular basis.
  • Responsible to ensure all key controls (ICFR Internal Controls) identified under their area of responsibility are designed and operating as outlined in the internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Ensure policies and processes are established and adhered to ensure goals and objectives for all regulatory and legal requirements are met including organizational quality, environmental, health & safety programs.

Requirements

  • University Degree or related training/experience.
  • Financial post-secondary education with experience would be an asset.
  • Experience with Supply Management and procurement principles.
  • Financial background related to cost accounting.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and financial skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Excel.
  • Process oriented with an attention to detail.
