Blackline Safety is seeking a Rental Technician to join our expanding team in Calgary, Alberta. This permanent position places you at the heart of our Rentals team, working in a dynamic and adaptable environment. Your technical and operational expertise will be crucial in preparing and maintaining our inventory of lone worker gas detection and safety equipment. You'll ensure adherence to procedures for preparing and shipping rental stock, while also suggesting improvements. Your innovative mindset will help enhance the quality and efficiency of our products and services. Your dynamism, resilience, and ability to manage shifting priorities will contribute significantly to the safety of our customers. Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all rental safety and lone worker devices meet safety standards for customer use.
  • Accurately execute testing and maintenance processes while following work instructions and test criteria.
  • Conduct QA checks on products as needed.
  • Perform first-line testing on personal wearable gas monitors and accessories.
  • Prepare devices for shipping and manage the return of rental products into inventory.
  • Clean and test all stock received back from rentals.
  • Process rental requests within our ERP system.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures while empathizing with customer requests.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately.
  • Ensure accurate stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Manage rental parcels received into the warehouse.
  • Maintain correct records of rental equipment shipped or received.
  • Arrange shipments with couriers and third-party services as needed.
  • Ship devices as required.
  • Work with couriers to resolve logistic queries.
  • Perform cycle stock checks (daily/weekly/monthly).
  • Support general daily tasks.
  • Contribute to project work as required.

What you bring to the role:

  • 1-3 years' experience in a technical or service role
  • Experience in conducting technical troubleshooting and repairs of products.
  • Interest in technology.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Previous logistics experience is beneficial.
  • Ability to understand and retain technical information, and communicate clearly, concisely, courteously, and professionally.
  • Strong IT skills, especially with the Office suite, CRM, and ERP systems.
  • Team player who proposes solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Takes initiative and is proactive in problem-solving.
  • Open, courteous, ambitious, and maintains a professional demeanor.
  • Positive, "can-do" attitude and a desire to make a difference within the team.
  • Flexible and available.

Steel-Toed Boots Requirement:

Candidates are required to wear steel-toed boots for this role to ensure safety compliance in the workplace. Applicants must have access to a pair of steel-toed boots prior to starting employment.
