MISSION

The Human Resources Generalist will lead and support the administration and HR functions within the organization. This talented and innovative individual will assist in implementing effective and efficient human resources initiatives.

The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a resourceful, hands-on, and organized individual to fulfill the role of a Human Resources Generalist.

PRIORITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day human resources functions including but not limited to labour relations, employee engagement, recruitment and selection, occupational health and safety, and HR management.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, pay, benefits, and leaves.
  • Administer leaves of absence and coordinate return-to-work plans.
  • Manage HRIS data, benefits enrolment, secure employee files, and maintain accurate HR documentation, templates, and checklists.
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment including designing and delivering orientation programs that drive success and positive employee experiences.
  • Track, schedule, and report on training programs while researching and recommending cost-effective external learning resources.
  • Support supervisors with coaching on employee relations issues, including attendance, conduct, accommodations, and discipline.
  • Build HR dashboards to analyze and present data on turnover, absenteeism, and training effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulations,
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Human Resources Management, Business or related field.
  • CHRP designation or actively working towards designation is considered an asset.
  • 3-4 years experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Not-for-profit, unionized experience is a strong asset.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications and human resources information systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all Federal and Provincial Employments Standards, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Rights, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ambition and drive to succeed with an excellent work ethic.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable legislation.
