Brannon Steel is looking for an experienced CNC Mill Operator for the afternoon shift (Monday to Friday, 2pm to 10pm) at its Brampton manufacturing facility. You'll operate one or more CNC VMCs in a busy production environment processing large runs of carbon steel parts for world-class heavy equipment OEMs.

Responsibilities

  • Setup, operate and troubleshoot one or more Mazak CNC VMCs based on assigned schedule.
  • Monitor machine functions and act promptly to correct errors.
  • Perform part prep and machine loading / unloading.
  • Handle steel parts manually and using hoists.
  • Read and interpret drawings, machine programs, and production documents.
  • Perform thorough visual and dimensional checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning, monitoring fluid levels and emptying chip collector.
  • Complete production and quality documents.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or similar program.
  • 5+ years of practical experience setting up, operating and troubleshooting CNC VMCs.
  • Proficient at reading technical drawings including GD&T.
  • Skilled in the use of basic and precision measuring tools.
  • Fluent in both imperial and metric systems.
  • Read and interpret G-code.
  • Perform intermediate math.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Speak, read, and write English at a conversational level.
  • Able to work Monday to Friday, 2pm to 10pm.
