We are currently looking for an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our team in the role of Manager of Data, Analytics and BI Reporting. In this position, you will play a lead role in maintaining and building dashboards, ensuring the integrity of data through support of the organization's data governance initiatives. You will be responsible for understanding a variety of data sources and their structures, utilizing your technical skills to extract and analyze data and present accurate results.

What will you do?

Data Governance / Data Process

  • Establish ETL (extract, transform, load) processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting.
  • Establish data collection processes to maintain or improve integrity of data.
  • Collaborate to build productive relationships with various data owners across the organization.
  • Collaborate to create and implement policies and best practices for data management.
  • Collaborate with various business leaders, as a consultant, to assess key metrics and ensure interpretation of data is accurate and that planning activities are grounded in reliable evidence.
  • Accountable for the stewardship of data within the portfolio including integrity and documentation of data.
  • Establishment of data review and approval processes to enable effective reporting.
  • Develop methods for automated data collection and storage.

Dashboard Build & Maintenance

  • Maintenance of existing reporting dashboards including monthly refreshes, annual archiving, and ad hoc updates.
  • Build and implement new reporting dashboards to include development of metrics to monitor key business outcomes.
  • Develop static and interactive data visualizations of financial and operational data to communicate business insights to the management team, department leads, principals and staff.

Data Analytics

  • Develop an understanding of overall businesses metrics and value drivers.
  • Develop a holistic understanding of data sources and structures to support analytics and reporting of key metrics.
  • Research new tools, systems and practices to recommend ongoing improvements in data analytics.
  • Implementation and ongoing enhancement of data infrastructure to collect, store, analyze and report data.
  • Transform datasets from a variety of inputs to create an analytics data set that can be used to analyze, track and predict the performance of the company.
  • Complete statistical modelling and computations to provide analytical solutions for the company's business problems.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed?

  • BA/BSc program in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar BI tools
  • Experience with SQL, C#, Python and other common programming languages
  • Experience with relational database systems
  • Experience with data preparation / transformation tools such as PowerQuery, Power Automate, Advanced Excel or Python an asset
  • Experience with statistical analytical techniques, data mining, or predictive models an asset
  • Ability to work with data with significant ambiguity and develop creative approaches to analytical problems
  • Tech curious and enthusiastic about solving complex problems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge and interest in sustainability considerations for operations is considered an asset
