AWC specializes in providing integrated water, wastewater treatment plants and many other specialized industrial packaged solutions. We offer clients advanced in-house engineering & design with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication and machining, in-house control panel shop, and a full range of field services, allowing us to provide turn-key solutions.

We are seeking a qualified person to fill an intermediate position in the electrical design group. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of technical competence and experience in design of electrical equipment for water and wastewater treatment systems. These are a list of primary expectations for the position. The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Work as electrical design lead on projects supporting the engineering and fabrication teams.
  • Lead the development and drafting efforts for the creation of electrical and I&C (instrumentation and controls) project documents such as: Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Electrical schematic diagrams, Instrumentation loop Diagrams, Control Panel Layout, Site Electrical Drawings, Bills of Materials, General Arrangement Drawings, Cable Schedules, Cable Tray Layout Drawings and support the development of change orders, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (fabrication, sales, etc.) and external stakeholders (vendors, owners, owners' engineers, etc.) to achieve desired project outcomes.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technologies through training and self-improvement initiatives.
  • Support the sales teams with proposals and cost estimates.
  • Aid in the continual improvement of AWC's Quality Management System's practices, procedures, templates, and checklists by participating in design reviews, feedback sessions, and process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Develop drawing templates and standards for electrical design.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma from Technical Institutions with CAD courses
  • 5+ Years of experience in Electrical design of industrial equipment and packages an asset.
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment process design would be an asset.
  • Experience with instrumentation, controls, and automation systems would be an asset.
  • Experience with fabrication and/or construction of custom electrical panels is an asset.
  • 3+ years working with AutoCAD Electrical drafting software an asset.
  • Strong communication and written skills.
