But this technology doesn't just magically appear, that's where you come in. You will help us build breakthrough technology to enable a radically improved mobile experience for users, giving them more control over their mobile device experience. We are looking for an experienced Lead Full-Stack Product Engineer to join our team and help build our internal tooling to enable us to scale.

Our founding team and advisors are serial entrepreneurs and technologists from Mozilla, MIT, and former founders of high-growth venture-backed startups. The company is joined by top-tier, global venture funds and angel investors.

This is a hybrid position in downtown Toronto.

Job Summary:

As a lead Full-Stack Product Engineer, you will help set technical direction, system architecture, and the build of consumer and business facing products. You will interface with product and design to better understand our product requirements, and work with the team to design and propose solution architectures. You will also be responsible for technical leadership, mentorship and management of a small but growing product engineering team.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• 5+ YOE in full-stack development or combined experience in frontend and backend engineering
• Experience with product development/product engineering, working with product designers
• Familiarity with web applications architecture, single page applications (React and Next.js preferred), and network performance optimization
• Experience with designing data intensive applications
• Experience shipping software to production and scaling production software.
• Experience with TypeScript (frontend and NodeJS) and/or Python
• Knowledge of web development best practices, as well as known web vulnerabilities. Familiar with OWASP reported web vulnerabilities, and how to mitigate them
• Familiarity with cloud platform vendors, one of: GCP, AWS, Oracle Cloud; preferably has deployed/shipped software to production on these platforms
• Experience with Websockets in web applications.
• Experience implementing with either StoreKit or Google In-App Purchase API.
• Experience with user analytics tracking, data processing to generate meaningful insights and metrics.
• Experience managing a product engineering team, providing technical leadership, mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deploying code via containers and Kubernetes, good understanding of underlying Kubernetes concepts.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with C/C++, shipped software in these languages.
• Experience with Linux-based systems levels software.
• Experience designing and/or developing real-time streaming software.
• Experience working with a payment solutions vendor such as Stripe, Adyen and/or Paypal/Braintree. General experience in a fintech environment is relevant as well.
