Reporting to the Custodial Supervisor, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all facilities at the REAL District. The Custodian supports all facilities by ensuring they are cleaned to REAL's standards to provide a healthy and safe environment for all guests. This role will be required to maintain the interior and exterior of the buildings and their surrounding grounds which includes following cleaning processes and procedures outlined for each area or facility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Maintains the interior and exterior of the buildings and their surrounding grounds.
• Keeps buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties including, but not limited to cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
• Ensures janitorial rooms are clean and stocked at the end of each shift.
• Performs other duties as required.

*This is a part time seasonal block position, you MUST be able to commit to the following:

• QCX: July 31 - August 4.
• Home Rider games: June 23, July 4, July 19, August 3, August 16, September 1, September 28, October 12, October 26.*

Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES

• Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred.
• Knowledge of WHMIS program and Occupational Health and Safety Standards preferred.
• Knowledge/previous experience working with janitorial procedures and machinery preferred.
• Ability to provide strong customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
• Strong time-management skills and a proven track record of delivering quality results, with attention to detail.
• Hours may vary based on operation requirements.
• Required to work in a variety of weather conditions and environments.
• Work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to remain standing and walk for their entire shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
