The Opportunity:

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Communications and Content to join our Marketing team.

This role requires you to perform essential duties 1-3 days per week in your assigned Aviso Office. We are at 151 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON.

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Content, the Senior Manager, Communications and Content is responsible for elevating Aviso's products, services and expertise by creating content that supports our vision and business objectives.

A highly proficient writer and adept editor who will apply their expertise in content creation, sharp business acumen, and understanding of the Canadian asset management ecosystem to deliver the right story to the right audience at the right time.

What your day looks like:

  • Collaborate with the Director, Communications and Content to execute a robust, narrative-driven content strategy and drive value-first, measurable execution
  • Collaborate with business line marketing colleagues, and with subject-matter experts within the business line, to identify and develop value propositions, narratives and storytelling opportunities
  • Create engaging, crisp, well-structured and on-strategy content, including articles, remarks, social copy, whitepapers, infographics, video scripts and ad copy to support business line priorities
  • Edit content produced by subject-matter experts to ensure it is clear, concise, well-structured and easy for the intended audience to read
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative network across Aviso's business lines
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Media Relations and Thought Leadership to optimize Aviso's earned media activities
  • Monitor the Canadian financial services ecosystem for developments and trends and identify opportunities for our asset management business group to shape and lead conversations
  • Work with marketing colleagues and agency partners to ensure a consistent editorial voice across communications and content activities
  • Bring creativity and innovation to content development—find novel ways to articulate the unique value of Aviso's products, services and expertise
  • Effectively manage multiple projects at a time and foster collaboration across shared services and business lines

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • A seasoned communications and content professional with 7+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or another related field; Master's Degree an asset
  • Previous experience in financial services required
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required; bilingual skills in French are an asset
  • Nimble, adaptable writing style across a range of audience needs and platforms, from long-form articles to snappy digital copy
  • Ability to connect the dots across economic, social, demographic, and content trends and understand how they shape the Canadian financial services ecosystem
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of content platforms, metrics and measurement
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, stakeholders and business demands
  • Strategic, creative and critical thinker who isn't afraid to challenge assumptions and experiment with form and content
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Comfort with ambiguity in an organization undergoing growth and change
  • A quick, self-directed learner who can coach others and who knows when to be strategic and when to be tactical
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional client service

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $103,000 - $134,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
