We are seeking an accomplished CGI Director with a unique blend of artistic creativity and technical prowess. As the leader of our imagery team, you will not only drive the development of creative visuals and animations that push the boundaries of Umbra's content creation but also actively participate in hands-on production. Your role will be pivotal in supporting our marketing endeavors by crafting engaging creative marketing content celebrating Umbra's products and projects.

What you'll do to be successful in this role

  • Manage, optimize, and enhance the virtual production pipeline to facilitate the development of high-quality CG images and animations intended for marketing purposes
  • Oversee a small team of CG artists to address workflow bottlenecks, offer technical direction, problem solve visual and technical challenges, and guarantee that the imagery adhere to brand standards.
  • Offer artistic direction to ensure produced assets are aligned to the company's visual brand language.
  • Collaborate with external partners, providing both artistic and technical direction to ensure accuracy in briefs and alignment with brand standards for received work.
  • Maintain all aspects of the digital workflow and archiving process including saving files to digital asset server using established file type protocols and profiles, archiving all image files to hard disk daily and cataloging images into portfolio.
  • Facilitate team growth through mentorship and guidance.
  • Directly contribute to asset production, delivering top-tier visuals that elevate the brand.

Requirements

What you'll bring …

  • Please include a portfolio in your application! (Candidates without a portfolio will not be considered)
  • 5-7 years of CG experience, with at least 3 years in a lead role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of furniture, consumer-goods, and architectural visualisation.
  • Experience with creating photorealistic images for use in packaging, ecommerce, and marketing.
  • Excellent knowledge of 3DSMax, F-Storm, Marvelous Designer, and the Adobe Suite.
  • Robust understanding of the full 3D Pipeline.

As a Bonus...

  • Demonstrated experience with short form animation, both in 2D and 3D formats.
  • Knowledge of photogrammetry.
  • Working knowledge of simple VFX.
