The Role

As a Parts Clerk at Trail Appliances, you will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement and inventory of parts, contributing to the overall efficiency of our organization. Reporting to the Business Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth parts management system and resolving customer complaints related to parts. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with suppliers and team members.

What you will be doing

Investigate and Resolve Customer Complaints:

  • Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the service provider or manager as necessary.

Parts Flow:

  • Identify, source, and record the appropriate part number(s).
  • Order parts from the designated suppliers.
  • Source alternatives for back-ordered parts.
  • Monitor and escalate severely delayed orders.
  • Ensure accurate billing information for incoming parts orders.
  • Receive, store, and manage parts in the correct locations, with other general parts warehouse maintenance as necessary.
  • Reallocate unused parts and process returns for unneeded or damaged parts.
  • Update computer systems with relevant information.

Recordkeeping:

  • Organize and store all purchase orders appropriately.
  • Maintain filing and storage of work orders.

Inventory:

  • Follow and maintain the inventory management process.
  • Participate in inventory counts and audits.
  • Contribute to the development of effective inventory controls.

Compensation

$16.50-$17.50

Minimum Requirements

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain and organize parts inventory effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail for accurate part identification and record-keeping.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in data entry, inventory management, and order processing.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with suppliers, colleagues, and team members.
  • Basic Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to find alternative part options and address issues or discrepancies.
  • Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with maintenance staff, purchasing personnel, and supervisors.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Basic Knowledge of Parts and Inventory: Familiarity with different types of parts and general inventory management principles is beneficial.
  • Lifting Ability: Ability to handle job responsibilities with minimal lifting, with tasks typically not exceeding 50 lbs.
