Moving Forward Co-operative

Moving Forward is a non-profit social enterprise established in 2017. Our mission is to help build an inclusive, vibrant community where people, families, and businesses thrive. We are member-driven and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. To achieve our mission, we offer a wide variety of programs under three key strategies: Food Security and Food Sovereignty; Community Engagement and Inclusion; and Local Trails Development.

To sustain our operations, we use a social enterprise business model. We currently own and operate a property known as Station8 that includes a large Victorian home with several rooms that are rented out for short and medium term accommodations and that also serves as our headquarters. The property also houses an innovative Community Food Hub that is currently piloting and developing several new social enterprise activities including a small cafe, teaching kitchens, farmers market, local food retail outlet, and space for workshops and special events.
