Job Summary
As Training Facilitator, you are part of a team responsible for raising awareness and strengthening the reach and impact of the Alzheimer Society New Brunswick. They provide education, outreach, and support to families, healthcare professionals, persons living with dementia, and the general public within the province. This is done by means of direct service delivery through ASNB programs and services and formal training to healthcare professionals. The Training Facilitator works as part of the Education and Outreach department and reports to the Manager of Education and Outreach in collaboration with the Project Manager.

They will have the ability to work collaboratively to accomplish various tasks and manage multiple projects. The successful candidate will invest in building community relationships and establishing meaningful connections with our clientele.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of ASNB programs, services, events, and projects as assigned
- Deliver education sessions to the healthcare groups (Ambulance NB, NB Extra Mural, Horizon)
- Develop and deliver customized education as requested to meet the needs of ASNB client groups;
- Participate, complete and maintain U-First!® certification
- Participate in U-First!® mentoring program
- Complete U-First!® coursework
- Deliver U-First!® workshops in English and French province-wide to healthcare professionals in alignment with deliverables
- Support and participate in the U-First!® Community of Practice
- Contribute to the achievement of U-First!® deliverables
- Support and participate in the evaluation of U-First!®
- Support the development of culturally relevant education and tools to support diverse communities;
- Participation in all staff, department, working group and other meetings as appropriate
- Maintain confidential client files
- Work to expand awareness to the general public through various outreach and awareness activities
- Participate in provincial and national activities when requested
- Regular travel is required
Qualifications
- Must be bilingual in French and English. Unilingual candidates will not be considered.
- A 2-yr diploma in health or social services field and Office Administration, or equivalent;
- Relevant experience in the field of education, social work, community services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Prior experience in the nonprofit or charitable sector is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of learner-centered principles, problem-solving strategies and confidentiality;
- Experience in group facilitation (education sessions, caregiver support groups, public presentations)
- Community awareness with the ability to build trusting relationships with community partners
- Must embody the vision and values of the ASNB
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with databases;
- Experience in the delivery of U-First! training an asset
- Proficient in Zoom and Microsoft programs
- Sensitive to the impact of Alzheimer's disease on the individual and the family
- Must be approachable, have solid communication skills and a warm positive attitude with active listening skills
- Experience working with diverse communities and a commitment to equity and inclusion
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of MS Office
- Possess a valid NB driver's license and be available to travel within the region
- Ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours as required
