Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Stores/Purchasing department team. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Stores Operator must be a team player who can work independently and safely in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment. This is a term position (3 - 6 months).

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and processing documents for delivery of supplies and components required for the operation of a manufacturing facility
  • Processing shipping requests for courier shipments
  • Operation of cranes, order pickers, forklifts, swing reach and reach truck, VLM system and floor cleaning equipment
  • Order picking and delivery of parts and supplies throughout the millsite
  • Organizing warehouse parts and supplies storage
  • Inventory cycle counting

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Grade XII or equivalent. Post-secondary education preferred
  • Prior experience in warehouse operation will be considered an asset
  • Solid computer skills, particularly inventory management programs
  • Vaid driver's license

Skills/Competency Requirements:

  • Ability to work safely and efficiently
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving and multi-tasking abilities
  • Solid time management skills and ability to work independently under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to move throughout the mill site on a regular/daily basis (including climbing multi-levels of stairs)
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis

Compensation: $31.15/hour per Collective Agreement
