Position Summary

As a Rehabilitation Assistant (RA), you will work under the supervision of our Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to support the implementation of resident care plans. You will also play a key role in promoting staff and resident safety through education and hands-on support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing therapy programs developed by OT/PT staff
  • Facilitate OT/PT referrals and monitor resident progress
  • Educate staff on safe handling, mobility, and equipment use
  • Maintain accurate documentation, inventory, and statistics
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and identify maintenance needs
  • Participate in safety initiatives and departmental meetings
  • Support interdisciplinary collaboration to improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Rehabilitation Assistant (OTA/PTA) program or Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology
  • Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Continued education in the field (if not currently practicing)

Skills & Experience

  • Passion for resident-centered care and quality of life
  • Experience working with individuals with physical and/or mental health diagnoses
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using computers or open to learning new systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Data collection or research experience is an asset
