About the Role

As Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), you will lead the municipality's administrative operations, reporting directly to Council. You'll manage municipal staff, oversee financial planning, and play a key role in advancing community and economic development, including direct responsibility for tourism.

This position is ideal for a collaborative leader with experience in municipal governance, financial management, and HR oversight.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Advising and supporting the Mayor and Council
  • Leading strategic planning and policy implementation
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of all departments
  • Overseeing budgets, reporting, and financial systems
  • Supervising and supporting municipal staff and HR functions
  • Advancing local economic development and tourism strategies
  • Building partnerships with government and community stakeholders
  • Promoting transparency and communication with the public

What You Bring:

  • A degree in Public Administration, Business, Political Science, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in municipal or public administration
  • Strong financial and HR management experience
  • Knowledge of municipal legislation and rural service delivery
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and lead teams effectively
  • High emotional intelligence, integrity, and professionalism
  • Bilingualism and tourism experience are considered strong assets
